In our 4th episode of Olympiad stories with Saravanan, we focus on the 14th World Champion Vladimir Kramnik. Kramnik arrived on the world scene in 1992 at the Manila Olympiad with a score of 8.5/9. He beat many strong players like Van Wely, Nunn, and Seirawan among others. His performance rating was over 2900! This was the stage where he broke through and eventually went to defeat Garry Kasparov in the World Championship.
